Can I use my own tablet or smartphone?
You can use all Sibbo MD devices with your own Android smartphone or tablet (iOS coming spring 2026). You need to download the Sibbo MD app from the Google Play store. However, since there are so many Android manufacturers, we cannot guarantee that the otoscope will work with every possible Android device.
How is the Ear Penguin cleaned? What if I need to disinfect it?
The Ear Penguin can be cleaned using medical grade cleaning wipes with applicable intended purpose (e.g. 70%-isopropanol). Use a damp cloth, do not soak. For comprehensive disinfection we recommend disinfection with Tristel Trio or UV Smart D25 devices.
What type of ear funnels fit the Ear Penguin?
The Ear Penguin is used with bayonet- style (push-and-twist) ear funnels for fast and secure coupling. Suitable funnels are available from many manufacturers (e.g. Heine AllSpec, Hpm, Mekalasi). We recommend using matte black funnels to optimize image quality. Generally speaking, 4 mm funnels work best, but smaller ones can also be used. In that case, you should zoom in, which will slightly reduce image quality.
